One of the most threatening nights in the history of the Jewish people, the night between the 9 th and 10 th of November 1938, 16 Cheshvan 5699, is known as "Kristallnacht" – the Night of Broken Glass. Almost all the synagogues in Germany were burned. This night was an indication of what was to come—the horrors of the Holocaust. Kristallnacht is named after the glass fragments that accumulated during that night. Windows of homes, public buildings and businesses belonging to the Jews of Germany and Austria were shattered. Hundreds of Jews were murdered and thousands sent to concentration camps. This project has been led by the Religious Kibbutz Movement for the past 15 years. The tradition of leaving syangogue lights on throughout the night has expanded each year across Israel, Europe, The United States, South America and Australia. Waiting for your photo
